Cost of living (Bern)

Hi all, I'm negotiating a contract to move to Switzerland, my company is based in Canton Bern. I am living in Orlando, FL, and need to get a grasp on the cost of living. I have an idea already about rent and groceries, but am uncertain about other things: electric, gas (do you use gas for heating / cooking?), Internet, cable TV... Are there any surprises waiting for me, like when I lived in Scotland and was shocked to find out about the TV tax...? We are a two person family, just me and my wife (well, cat as well). I appreciate any answers...
