Road Trip Bogotá-Pasto

Hi! I just wanted to get some information about the road from Bogotá to the city Pasto. Does anyone know if it is safe?
Google says it´s about 16 hours. We´re going to a wedding over there but are not really sure of the road trip option.

I don´t really know much about Colombia´s roads since I´ve barely gotten out of Bogotá.
