Schooling for international kids (Bremen)

I am considering relocating to Bremen/Bremerhaven (have gotten a job offer) during next 3 months, and one consideration of mine is schooling for my 10-year old daughter. Her native tongue is spanish and she speaks english as well. I would like her to learn German if the schools are good.
How does the school system work in Bremen/Germany? Good public schools? Do they still after 4th grade divide the kids into the "academic" line and the "practical/hands-on" line? What is quality of public schooling vs. the private international one?
Anyone has experience with moving out of Germany after kids have been in public German school?
