Maadi vs. 6th of October (Cairo)

Hi,

I'll be moving to Egypt in August. Wondering what area would be best to live in. I'll be working in 6th of October, but I'd like to have a good area for my wife who is Korean. We'd like to be in an area where we could transition to life in Egypt yet have some expat comforts. Also having access to Cairo and the American University of Cairo would be bonus.

Also what's public transportation like from both 6th and Maadi to central Cairo like>
