InterNations — A Community for American Expats in Chiang Mai
Hello to all Americans in Chiang Mai! Are you interested in getting to know fellow expats in Chiang Mai? Looking for advice from other Americans, e.g. wondering if there are any bars in Chiang Mai which will be showing your favorite baseball or American football team’s upcoming match or where to go in town for st￭ turkey?
There’s no doubt about it: Chiang Mai sees a slower pace of life than Bangkok while still offering plenty to do for expats. The largest city in northern Thailand is a historically important city known for its many Buddhist temples, traditional arts and crafts, green surroundings, and much more! With the network of RTC city buses and rót daang (shared taxis) services, navigating your way around the city from one place to the next is simple. This also means that if you don’t want to live among the hustle and bustle of the center, you can enjoy a quieter life in outer districts such as Hang Dong or San Khampaeng, which are about 15 to 20 km away from Chiang Mai’s center.
Although Chiang Mai has lots to offer, you might be wondering where and how you can meet other Americans in the city. Luckily, InterNations is here to make this easier for you! It' such a a pity that we have to leave Bangkok soon. I'll miss the InterNations expat community so much, especially the great events!
