Degree Attestation experience? Canadians?? (Doha)

Hello All, I'm looking for a bit of guidance.

I'm a Canadian living in London and in order to proceed with the Qatar visa I need to have my Canadian degree attested by the home country Foreign Affairs and Qatar Embassy.
From the research I've done it sounds like this has to actually be attested in Ottawa Canada and then stamped by the Qatar embassy in Washington, DC because there isn't one in Canada.

Does anyone have any experience with this or know of a better option?
