Finance and Budget Analyst
Locally based candidates only. This is a non-sponsored position that requires all applicants to already have family based sponsorship to live and work in Qatar. This position is a 12-month renewable contract that does not include sponsorship or associated benefits.
Headed by the Director, the Center for International and Regional Studies has personnel managing its research and publications activities and works closely with Guest Relations to manage events.
The Finance and Budget Analyst will manage the financial aspects of the running of the Center for International and Regional Studies office (including fiscal management, events, publications and grants).
Accountable for overseeing the financial management of the CIRS office
Ensure the timely application of all SFS-Qatar financial processes and policies in CIRS
Assist the Director with developing the budget for the CIRS
Monitor the Center’s expenditure and keep track of target versus actual spending
Compile financial projections, perform analysis and generate reports for the Director and Finance
Coordinate financial delivery of CIRS subawards (grants)
Review contracts and review requests for rebudgeting
Liaise with the Finance and sponsored program units at institutions of awardees
Review cost center transactions and perform monthly cost center reconciliations and variance reporting
Review financial paperwork and sign, up to the allowable limit, vendor contracts, purchase requisitions, invoices and employee reimbursements
Train new employees in Georgetown financial systems, or ensure they receive training
Protected content degree required, preferably in accounting or business administration
Protected content to four years budgeting experience essential (developing, reconciling and forecasting)
Protected content with travel and contracting procedures and policies
Protected content experience in academic setting desirable
Protected content in Microsoft Office Suite
