Tax Return (Dortmund)

Good Morning All.

I hope you are all keeping well. I am just after some advice please. I started working in Germany in September and i have just received my tax paper.

What is the best way of claiming my tax back for travel ect . Some people say its best to visit an accountant and let them do it . Other have suggested submitting a self return on elster.de.

any help or guidance would be very much appreciated.
