grace period after residency expiry ? (Dubai)

Hello. 2 weeks before my visa expiration I signed cancelation paper and gave my id and passport to sponsor. However after that he stopped replying to my calls or msgs, can't meet him at the office so I don't know if my visa is canceled or not. ( and he also owes me my settlement) Visa expired 1 week ago and I want to ask if I have the 30 days grace period or it's given only if canceled ? I want to go to the emigration office to check my cancelation status myself but can I be deported if it's expired but not canceled ?
