Tourist visa after Resident Visa Cancellation (Dubai)

Hi there, I would need some help with a visa question.
I will have to cancel my UAE resident visa soon and I am assuming that I can exit the country and come back in with a tourist visa valid 3 months(I'm Italian so I can get a visit visa on arrival).
If this is correct, my question is: would I be able to travel in and out of the UAE during these 3 months (where I am on a tourist visa)?
