Will my kid be too naive if she grows up in Dubai?

I have been having conversations with some of my expat friends in Dubai lately, and a lot of them seem to think that there is something to be said for sending your child abroad (from Dubai) to study. Some of these parents are very convinced that if their kids grow up in Dubai, they will not be 'street-savvy' enough and that the quality of education they receive over here is nowhere near as good as the quality they would receive in England. I am not so sure they are right, so I wanted to post this thread in order to find out some more opinions. What are your thoughts on this subject?
