The huge frescoes in the Jesuit's refectory are breath-taking, and our talk next ๐๐๐ฉ๐ฆ, will bring them to life in their full glory.
This fascinating talk will explore Maltaโs 18C food culture through the amazing frescoes, inspired by Biblical scenes offering a rare visual record of a society shaped by hunger, faith, and survival. At times when food was scarce, abundance was seen as divine grace, and dishes are shown that are no longer known of today.
The refectory emerges not only as a dining space, but as a powerful storytelling chamber of Maltaโs culinary past and cultural identity.
