The Osaka Tenjin Fireworks, part of the world-famous Tenjin Matsuri, light up the Okawa River on July 25th every year.

Around 3,000 to 5,000 fireworks are set off between 19:30 and 20:50.

The most iconic view features the brilliant bursts of color reflecting off the river alongside a majestic fleet of over 100 lantern-lit boats.

The fireworks are launched from Kema Sakuranomiya Park along the banks of the Okawa River.

Let’s meet at 7-Eleven Osaka
Nakanocho 4 - chome
convenience store which is very near the Police Box called ‘Miyakojima Police Station Nakanocho Police box’ near the bridge.

The fireworks ignite directly over a fleet of roughly 100 illuminated riverboats (Funatogyo). The mix of floating bonfires, lanterns, and exploding colorful shells creates a mirror effect on the water.

Let’s meet at 19:00 and decide about
what to do depending on the situation around there. (It depends on how crowded it gets. )
Bring a little map or a portable chair if you like.
Snacks and drinks that you like.

Look out for the custom "red plum" fireworks, which are shaped to honor the sacred crest of the Osaka Tenmangu Shrine. Character-shaped shells and trick fireworks are also integrated into the show.

Throughout the display, look out for the massive crowd and boat passengers uniting to perform a synchronized, rhythmic hand-clapping chant unique to Osaka culture.

See you at 7- Eleven.
