InterNations — A Community for American Expats in Georgetown

Hello to all Americans in Georgetown! Are you interested in getting to know fellow expats in Georgetown? Looking for advice from other Americans, e.g. wondering if there are any bars in Georgetown which will be showing your favorite baseball or American football team’s upcoming match or where to go in town for st■ turkey?

There’s no doubt about it: Georgetown might not be the obvious choice for expats, but it will surprise you. The capital of Guyana is a large, urban city known for its tropical climate, museums, being home to the country’s main port, and much more! With the bus services, ferries, and road links, navigating your way around the city from one place to the next is simple. This also means that if you don’t want to live among the hustle and bustle of the center, you can enjoy a quieter life in Republic Park or Nandy Park, for example, which are both less than 15 minutes away from Georgetown’s center.

Although Georgetown has lots to offer, you might be wondering where and how you can meet other Americans in the city. Luckily, InterNations is here to make this easier for you! You’re warmly invited to join the InterNations community. Within our international network in Georgetown, there’s a vibrant circle of American expats from all regions of USA, including New York City, Los Angeles, and beyond.
