Moving to Hanoi with my small daughter.

Hi All.
I am new to the Hanoi forum, but not new to InterNations. I have lived as an expat for the past 8 years in Thailand. Because of a sad breakdown in my marriage and pending divorce, I will now be moving permanently to Hanoi in January Protected content . I will however be visiting for about 2 weeks in October.
Are there any expat friendly bars that show sport? (I am an English Football follower).
I will also be looking for accommodation, but don't really want to go over $500 USD a month if possible.
All in all, any advice that you good people of the forum has for this newbie to Hanoi .....well Vietnam to be honest, will be most welcome.
