As I mainly use InterNations for business, it was just overwhelming to get so many international contacts working in Taipei as well.

Moving to Hsinchu
Expats moving to Hsinchu in North Taiwan will quickly discover that due to the city's windy climate it is known as “The Windy City”. Once you're relocated to the city, why not find out if there are any other expats living in Hsinchu who can give you a tour of the city and help you out with any queries you might have about your relocation. It's always exciting to socialize with other expatriates in your new home, as they can help you manage your expectations and give you advice on the best way to go about getting yourself settled into your new life. Once you've made friends and got in touch with them, why not organize a meet up. You could, for example, let them take you on a tour of the spectacular City God Temple. It was built in 1748 and is a great example of a Taoist temple with a lot of colorful frescoes constructed from granite. It also features a distinctively arched gate at the East entrance.
Working in Hsinchu
There are hundreds of high tech companies in Hsinchu, including lots of big international corporations. It's a very exciting place to work in. The Hsinchu Science and Technology Industrial Park is home to Philips and Epistar amongst others. The government has worked hard to make Hsinchu a center for IT and for this reason it attracts a lot of investment and is a constant talking point. For expats working in Hinschu who wish to take advantage of the business opportunities the city offers, the InterNations community is a great place to network. Find other expatriates in the know and give your career the edge over local and international competition. Our platform is also a good place to find out about upcoming job vacancies, especially those that are being vacated by other expats who are moving to another country, or repatriating.
