InterNations — A Community for American Expats in Jamaica

Hello to all Americans in Jamaica! Are you interested in getting to know fellow expats in Jamaica? Looking for advice from other Americans, e.g. wondering if there are any bars in Jamaica which will be showing your favorite baseball or American football team’s upcoming match or where to go in town for st■ turkey?

There’s no doubt about it: life in Jamaica is more than just sunshine and reggae music. The island is a Caribbean city known for being the birthplace of reggae music, the Rastafari religion, and much more! With the transportation infrastructure consisting of railways, air transportation, and, most importantly, roadways, navigating your way around the city from one place to the next is simple. This also means that if you don’t want to live among the hustle and bustle of the center, you can enjoy a quieter life in Portmore or Spanish Town, for example, which are only around 15 to 20 km away from Jamaica’s center.

Although Jamaica has lots to offer, you might be wondering where and how you can meet other Americans in the city. Luckily, InterNations is here to make this easier for you! You’re warmly invited to join the InterNations community. Within our international network in Jamaica, there’s a vibrant circle of American expats from all regions of USA, including New York City, Los Angeles, and beyond.

Expat fellows on InterNations helped us find a reliable nanny for our three kids. That was very important for us to feel comfortable here in Jamaica.
