Known as ‘the Harbor city’, Kaohsiung is a beautiful city in Taiwan which has seen a huge development in recent years, transforming it from a small village known for trading to a large global city which has a diverse number of industries and a glorious harbor. Expats living in Kaohsiung will want to take advantage of sights such as the Love River, which runs right through the city and is much loved by the city’s residents, and the Holy Rosary Cathedral, which is known for being the oldest Catholic church in Taiwan. The city hosted the 2009 World Games and has plenty to offer in terms of culture and architecture, including the ‘Dome Light’, which is located in Formosa Boulevard Station and is one of the largest glass art structures in the world.
