Moving to Ljubljana

Hi all,
My partner and I are moving to Ljubljana in late August for my partners work. We've never been to Slovenia but hear wonderful things about it! The job offer is quite last minute so it feels like a big rush to move for us!

My partner has a new job for a year. I'm a doctor so not sure I can work given my only language is English but I'm keen to do volunteering or something outside of my usual comfort zone!

Just hoping to get some suggestions about finding volunteer work if you only speak English? Or general impressions (do's and don'ts!) of moving to Ljubljana and fitting in?- particularly as we both only speak English...and I might be at a lose end for while without work!
