Residency Rule? (Ljubljana)

As a UK passport holder, recently bought a weekend house in Slovenia. I was told by a local policeman that residency rules have changed for us. Instead of staying 90 days at a time we can only stay 90 days a year.
Anyone know if this is true or not. Can't find anything in internet even on Slovene sites that even mention any change.
