Anniversary Spotlight — How Our Ambassadors Go ALL IN
The theme of the 15th InterNations anniversary is “ALL IN 15”. It refers to InterNations being a place of belonging, where everyone feels welcome and is united in one big community across the world. We hope this theme will continue to inspire our members to be “ALL IN” with InterNations.
We’ve grown so much since 2007 when InterNations was born, but one thing has certainly stayed the same: our committed Ambassadors have always been at the heart of InterNations, bringing expats and global minds together and making everyone feel at home abroad.
As we celebrate this milestone of 15 years together, we want to highlight some of the Ambassador teams who we believe are examples of going “ALL IN” for their community. They are hosting monthly official events and represent thriving InterNations Communities. We feel that these teams (and, of course, other teams around the world too!) really go “All IN” for their community.
Ambassador Team São Paulo
Our community represents the joy of Brazil and yet the universal spirit that comes from a huge and modern megalopolis. It’s all about enjoying each other’s company, opening our minds, and setting cultural constraints aside.
Ambassador Team Miami
The Miami Community is one of the most vibrant, energetic, positive, and dynamic communities we’ve had the pleasure to be part of. We truly love the people, the culture, the venues, and (obviously) the sunny weather all year around.
Ambassador Team Sydney
Sydney is one of the biggest, most multi-cultural InterNations Communities in one of the most amazing cities in the world.
Ambassador Team Dubai
The InterNations Dubai Community is probably also the most active community on the globe with almost weekly official events — in person, at absolutely stunning venues in Dubai.
What’s the one thing you want the world to know about the InterNations São Paulo Community?
Our community represents the joy of Brazil and yet the universal spirit that comes from a huge and modern megalopolis. As a Brazilian community, we are keen to share our zest for life. As a community based in a cosmopolitan and modern city, the biggest metropolitan area of the southern hemisphere, we aim to make people feel part of the whole world and enjoy life without borders. It´s all about enjoying each other’s company, opening our minds, and setting cultural constraints aside.
What does InterNations mean to you?
For us, it means an open door to the whole world: a way to open our minds, free our spirits, and embrace diversity, enhancing the experience of the world for newcomers and all members.
What is one reason why people should join InterNations Events around the world?
In the very city where you happen to live at this moment, each InterNations event is an open window to let fresh air come in. You want to breathe and feel the fun, the friendship, the multiculturality, and the open-minded atmosphere. And if you travel around the world you will always find these windows where you can feel at ease at your global home.
Looking forward, what’s next for the São Paulo Ambassador Team? Do you have any plans (big or small) for your community?
We are in constant evolution; after learning how to host online events we have taken the challenge of going back to organizing in-person events with full gratitude. At this point, we want to keep the best of both worlds: in-person events give us the warmth and the joy of meeting people and “feeling” them.
Online events opened up the scope of activities, including more cultural contents and thoughtful perspectives to our encounters, while integrating a greater diversity of participants. We could welcome those people that were not able to join before because of distance, schedule, constraints, or other situations, hence making our family grow through the richness of new experiences.
Now the next step is keeping all the good things that we got out of online events for in-person gatherings, developing new alternatives for the future: opening up space for different kinds of people, including more cultural and differentiated concepts to make everyone feel welcome … without forgetting the most popular and crowded alternatives. We believe we are managing to make the next step!
The theme for the 15th Anniversary is going “All IN.” How does your team or community go “All IN”?
“All IN” means “everybody is welcome”, without barriers of gender, culture, nationality, way of thinking, way of life … all are welcome in a global space of freedom and tolerance. Global does not mean ‘homogeneous”.
InterNations is a common space where diversity finds its natural place, no one feels excluded, and where each one of us, no matter how specific our interests might be, will find space to relate with people alike. In that sense, we are going to enhance our space with popular, most-liked events, as well as special encounters. We all can find our way and our corner at InterNations, we are “All IN” !

What’s the one thing you want the world to know about the InterNations Miami Community?
The Miami Community is one of the most vibrant, energetic, positive, and dynamic communities we’ve had the pleasure to be part of. We truly love the people, the culture, the venues, and (obviously) the sunny weather all year around. The community has been active and extremely supportive towards each member, new faces and old friends, always there to listen and help wherever they can. Especially during the pandemic when the Miami Community kept being one of the most active communities worldwide.
It is so easy to make new friends among the members wherever you go in the World! InterNations Miami community seems having more time (maybe more earlier retiree) and more outgoing maybe rooting from Latino culture.
What does InterNations mean to you?
Being part of an exclusive community, discovering the best venues!
InterNations means to us new friends, new loves, new relationships, new businesses. It means home.
What is one reason why people should join InterNations Events around the world?
Each one of us has a different background but no one likes to be alone. And like the InterNations motto, we want everyone to find a smiling face, a friend, someone that can be there, at our best and our lowest. Events are experiences where you can meet your new best friend, your soulmate, or your business partners.
But at the very least, you will always find members with the same interest. There is always an activity you will love!
Looking forward, what’s next for the Miami Ambassador Team? Do you have any plans (big or small) for your community?
Well, we are hosting the biggest InterNations parties on the planet, and yes, we have amazing plans for the future. We want to make InterNations bigger, so we are trying to find the best venues that attract the most people and come up with new ideas for more fun, themed events.

We are ready to extend the invitation to everyone — everyone should feel welcome to join and be part of InterNations. We want to share ideas, make every member feel part of something great, provide a sense of belonging, and make everyone feel at home. We are a big family!
Miami is a radiant city, one of the most gorgeous, exciting, and stylish metropolises on the planet, but it can be tough, especially when you move and don’t know anybody. InterNations, and the ALL IN birthday party will be the most appreciated event the Miami Community has ever organized.
There are two Miami Ambassador teams — they host their events separately.

What’s the one thing you want the world to know about the InterNations Sydney Community?
Axel: We are one of the biggest, most multi-cultural InterNations Communities in one of the most amazing cities in the world. I have moved to Sydney from Germany more than 20 years ago, have attended InterNations events in Europe, Asia, and Australia and can truly say ours are among the best.
What does InterNations mean to you?
InterNations is like my second family, without the weird uncle.
What is one reason why people should join InterNations Events around the world?
To meet like-minded people from all over the world.

New venues, more live music, and more fun.

We will host a super special event at one of the best venues in Sydney. We will bring people together from all over the world, there will be entertainment, live music, free food for everyone, and lots of fun. We will make sure that everybody feels welcome and feels like they belong.
There is one Newcomers’ Ambassador Team as well as four Sydney Ambassadors who typically host official events individually.

The InterNations Dubai Community is the largest and safest expat community with the friendliest and most open-minded people in the world. It’s probably also the most active community on the globe with almost weekly official events — in person, at absolutely stunning venues in Dubai.
What does InterNations mean to you?
InterNations provides the opportunity to easily make friends all over the world.
What is one reason why people should join InterNations Events around the world?
They’re a great opportunity to “broaden your horizons“ with InterNations members from all over the world.

The whole Ambassador team in Dubai is keeping an eye on the importance of continuous event improvement.
The theme for the 15th Anniversary is going “All IN”. How does your team or community go “All IN”?
To achieve the ALL IN feeling, we make sure that really “NOBODY STANDS ALONE”.
The Ambassador teams in Dubai host their events separately. They are all quite experienced and active. Fun fact: This community boasts some very long-term Ambassadors. You can read their start years below.
