Morocco / Marrakech - First time!

Dear All,
My friends and I will be in Morocco between 27th December until 8th January. Could you please give me some advice in what to do, where to go, local restaurant, insider tips etc. Any advice what not to miss would be really appreciated. Let me know any get togethers (especially New Year's Eve event) over there:)
