Motorists Beware (Nairobi)

According to reliable sources, there has been a recent increase of gunpoint robberies in the capital using a method of operation known as “bump-and-rob” or ”fender-bender”, in which criminals purposely cause minor accidents, so as to force the victim out of the car in order to exchange information. Armed assailants then hold victims up, robbing them. The criminals are reported to have increased operations in the, affluent areas of the city.
Except for situations where human life is at stake (like in hit and run), refrain from exiting vehicles during traffic accidents. It is more dangerous after dark or in isolated spots .Only do so after ascertaining that the involved parties have no malicious intentions. Your second option is to drive straight to the nearest police station where you can make a report.
