At the first Shanghai Get-Together I met several American expats. I am very grateful that they shared their experience with me.
Living in Neijiang
Neijiang, known as “The Pearl of the Tuo River”, is located on the Tuo River in the southeast Sichuan province of the People's Republic of China. Neijiang has always been valued for its geographical advantages, and the transportation links have served many trades and industries throughout its long history. Today, Neijiang is reputed as the home of several colleges such as the Neijiang Normal College, and since the Chinese economic boom of the 1990s, its citizens have work in various industries including engineering, electronics, chemicals, consumer goods and construction materials. Expats living in Neijiang will be staying in an ancient city steeped in history. Established as a first county-level administrative organization over two thousand years ago during the Eastern Han Dynasty, Neijiang was at first known as Han'an and Zhongjiang. Only the first emperor of the Sui dynasty (581-618) changed its name to that by which we know it today - Neijiang. However, it was not to officially become a city until over a thousand years later. If you are an expatriate living in Neijiang, it would be worth joining InterNations, the online network that connects expats around the world. No matter where they have relocated to, InterNations enables expatriates to meet people with shared interests in their new corner of the globe.

Moving to Neijiang
An expatriate moving to Neijiang will be able to enjoy the vast low mountainous areas, and rolling hills that make up the majority of the city's landscape. The city is situated between the large and comparatively urban cities of Chengdu and Chongqing. Traveling between these two metropolises has become much easier in recent years with the installation of the high speed "Harmony Train" that dramatically cuts the travel time to a fraction of the former 12 and 18 hours. If you would like to discover more about the history of this beautiful city after moving to Neijiang why not take a trip to the Sugar Industry Museum, and discover how Neijiang gained its nickname from centuries gone by as the sugar capital of Sichuan. You can also use InterNations to learn more about Neijiang, your exciting new home in the People's Republic of China, and find out all there is to be explored.
