Hiring: Junior Tax Professional (full-time) (New York)

Our firm specializes in providing tax advisory services to clients with mature and emerging U.S. businesses or investments. Our primary focus is on the needs of U.S. subsidiaries or partnerships that are owned by European mid-sized companies. In addition, we offer tax and accounting services to high net worth individuals with the ultimate goal of preserving family wealth by optimizing U.S. income and inheritance taxes.
WHO WE WANT
We are currently seeking a junior tax professional with at least 5 years of experience. This position will be directly involved in the development of a full range of tax planning, consulting and compliance services to clients and works closely with senior staff on all phases of project and engagement management for multiple clients. Responsibilities include tax return preparation; interacting closely with clients to provide assistance in planning, consulting, and compliance expertise; and assisting in client management and practice development activities.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Assist in client engagements from start to finish, which includes planning, executing, directing, and completing tax projects and managing to budget.
Assist in full range of tax services with international setting including tax return preparation and review, tax research, preparation and review of technical memorandums, and drafting client correspondence.
Assist in responding to inquiries from the IRS and other tax authorities.
Required Skills and Experience
Bachelor's degree in Accounting.
Either Certification in Public Accounting (CPA) or prospective certification within 2 years.
5+ years of experience, preferably in part with a "Big Four" firm.
Strong tax accounting skills with solid experience in U.S. GAAP, tax compliance, corporate consolidated returns, and international involvement.
Exceptional client service and communication skills with a demonstrated ability to develop and maintain outstanding client relationships.
Strong computer skills including proficiency in Microsoft Office and CCH as well as focus on details.
Ability to work additional hours as needed.
German language skill a plus, but certainly not required.
