This event is part of a series of activities in New York, jointly organized by Austria and Switzerland celebrating the UEFA European Football ChampionshipTM2008, June 7 – 29, Protected content .

Sixteen national teams have qualified for the Championship Protected content , one of the world’s greatest sports events.

Competing for the title ofEuropean Football Champion Protected content Austria, Croatia, Czech Republic, France, Germany, Greece, Italy, Netherlands, Poland, Portugal, Romania, Russia, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland and Turkey. The championship will be hosted by the cities of Basel, Bern, Geneva and Zurich in Switzerland and Innsbruck, Klagenfurt, Salzburg and Vienna in Austria

Cultural Events at the Austrian Cultural Forum in New York

Bread and Soccer Exhibition, May 28 – September 13, Protected content

Bread and Soccer is an exhibition that looks at art, soccer and mass spectacle from the place where the amateur and the professional intermingle. The eleven featured artists present works that suggest ways in which the cult of spectatorship meets the culture of participation.
