suggestions for female solo traveler? (Ottawa)

Hi there, I'll be in Ottawa 4/21-4/24 and will stay at Lord Elgin Hotel. I'm 30s, not a huge sports fan, and first time to Ottawa. What would you suggest in terms of things to do? And nearby bars/restaurants?
Would a day trip to somewhere close by make sense?
Also, would love to meet any internations fellow members!
