Americans - new to Paris

Hey everybody!

My wife and I have just moved to Paris for my job. We really don't know too many people. Could someone give me an indication on how we could find local folks in the area that are english speaking or American to give us a semblance of being at home.

I ask as my wife doesn't speak french, but will be taking lessons. So, as she learns French, we need ways to make friends who know how to speak English.

I've signed up to MeetUp and also we are looking to attending services at the American Church in Paris to meet some folks. I'm sure that this topic has been addressed over and over and over. So, apologies if I am causing everyone to repeat themselves.
