Shipping Cars from USA to Perth

Hi all! My husband is considering a job opportunity through his current company to relocate to Perth from the US. I would love to bring our own cars since the company would cover shipping costs etc. The cars steering wheels in the US are left sided. I read that one can't ship a left sided car under 15 years old to Australia. Is this true? I also heard car prices in Australia are very high. What about leasing cars? Is that common there?
