First time Teaching English advice needed! (Phuket)

Hello All,
My husband and I are thinking of moving to thailand next year to take a break from our current roles in forensics and social care after living in London for 7 years.

I am trying to scope out Thailand while here for a month from September 3rd in order to get a few ideas on
1: getting teaching jobs in Thailand
2: moving here as professionals not drifters
3: best islands to move to for a mix of city/ island life ...we used to live in key west so we know how a small island can get the best of you but it may work here!
4: best areas to move to

I am planning to leave bangkok on the 11th and do not have a plan so if anyone has any teaching agencies in mind, areas to visit to consider moving to, or knows of any expat events coming up that I could attend....everything is welcome!!!!
