Advice on living in Porto

Good afternoon,
My wife jan and I are considering relocating to Porto toward the middle of Protected content . We have vacationed in Portugal on many occassions but never visited Porto. We have a visit planned for late January to see for ourselves but we would very much appreciate any advice that you might have to share with us about the quality of life in the city.
