Stay in Rome over Easter 2009

Dear InternNations Members in Rome,

My boyfriend and I had this crazy idea of spending Easter in Rome... when we decided this we completely forgot that it was EASTER!!! If you know what I mean - we completely forgot that this might be one of the busiest times in the year in Rome.

So, my question to the locals: do you think that there is any chance of finding a room or two beds or anything in Rome for a REASONABLE price... low-budget? (Everything is already completely booked out) We really prefer to mix with the locals and get a bit of the culture than staying in a several-star hotel.

We are also trying hospitalityclub.org and couchsurfing.com - so far not successful - which was to be expected as it is Easter!!!

Any kind of advice or info is very much appreciated!
