Want to spend a month in San Jose! (San José)

Hello everyone. I was wondering what are the pros and cons could be spending a month there. What do you like about the city? I want to be there to be close to my fiancé in the USA since now I can't yet go there. Costa Rica seems to be a great option but I have never been there. I would really appreciate any help. How's the cost of rent? The people? The amenities in the city??
