Volunteer English teacher (some Spanish knowledg) (Santiago de Chile)

Seeking for a kind and enthusiastic volunteer(s) to be an English teacher for young and adults in a Remedial School Program in the south of Santiago. The idea is to prepare students with zero knowledge of English to face a reading comprehension test (not speaking neither listening test) at the end of August. Spanish knowledge is required.

I am an English and Spanish teacher who has volunteered for the last 2 years in a beautiful project that helps young and adults to finish their Secondary School certificate (Licencia de Enseñanza Media) in comuna La Florida, Santiago.

Classes: Thursdays (starting from next week March 21st)

Every volunteer gets in charge of one school subject (including literacy for primary school) and not only provide lessons but also assist and encourage the students who make a big effort for 8 months from Monday to Thursday and manage to combine their work and family life with their wish to finish school and have options to a better salary, other educational programmes, among many other benefits that more than 40% of adults over Protected content statistics say 2 out of 5 Chileans) who haven't finished school in Chile, don`t count on.

The volunteer we are looking for will be working with Fundación Crece Chile ( Protected content ) and will be count with my full support for preparation of lessons and materials and the sources provided by Protected content , which is the Ministry of Education section in charge of this)

Volunteering in Chile is not as popular as it should be, but for what it's worth the volunteers in this program make every year a big effort to keep the initiative alive.

Buscamos a un(os)/a(s) voluntario/a(s) para ser el/la profesora de inglés de jovenes y adultos en un Programa de recuperación de estudios en el sur de Santiago. La idea es preparar a estudiantes con cero nivel de inglés para que rindan un examen de comprensión de lectura en Inglés owledge of English a finales de Agosto. Necesita hablar español.

Soy profesora de Inglés y Español como lengua extranjera que trabaja como voluntaria desde hace 2 años en un hermoso proyecto que ayuda a jovenes y adultos para que terminen sus estudios de primaria, secundaria (Enseñanza Media y Basica) y alfabetización y asi lograr su ansiada Licencia de Enseñanza Media, en la comuna La Florida, Santiago.

Clases: Jueves
Horario: de 19.00 a 21.30

100 mt. del Metro Santa Julia, Linea 4a.

Cada voluntario se encaga de impartir una materia (ramo) de colegio (incluyendo alfabetización) y no solo enseña las clases sino que asiste y apoya a los estudiantes que con tanto esfuezo por 8 months (marzo a nov) de Lunes a Jueves se las arregla para combinar su vida laboral y familiar con el sueño de terminar el colegio y tener mejores oportunidades de sueldo, acceder a estudios superiores y capacitaciones, entre otros beneficios que no tiene más del 40% de los adultos sobre 20 años (otro estudio dice que 1 de cada 5 adultos) por haber terminado la escuela en Chile.

El/la voluntario/a trabajará con la Fundación Crece Chile ( Protected content ) y contará con todo mi apoyo constante para la preparación de clases, materiales y los recursos que entrega Protected content , (que es la sección del Ministerio de Education encargada)

Como much@s ya sabrán o se habrán dado cuenta, ser voluntario en Chile no esta muy arraigado y las contribuciones se limitan a donaciones y colectas de vez en cuando. En lo que respecta a este y muchos otros programas de Recuperación de Estudios el esfuerzo es constante para mantener la iniciativa año a año.
