I thought settling in Sarajevo would be more difficult but with InterNations I quickly connected with other South African and American expats.
InterNations — A Community for American Expats in Sarajevo
Hello to all Americans in Sarajevo! Are you interested in getting to know fellow expats in Sarajevo? Looking for advice from other Americans, e.g. wondering if there are any bars in Sarajevo which will be showing your favorite baseball or American football team’s upcoming match or where to go in town for st■ turkey?
There’s no doubt about it: Sarajevo is a peaceful city, perfect for expats who want to live in a culturally rich and diverse city. The capital of Bosnia and Herzegovina is a old and historic city known for being the location of many historic events, its region-wide influence in entertainment, fashion, the arts, and much more! With the network of trams, buses, trolleybuses, and minibuses, navigating your way around the city from one place to the next is simple. This also means that if you don’t want to live among the hustle and bustle of the center, you can enjoy a quieter life in Vratnik or Ilidža, for example, which are both approximately a 20-minute or 30-minute public transportation journey away from Sarajevo’s center.
Although Sarajevo has lots to offer, you might be wondering where and how you can meet other Americans in the city. Luckily, InterNations is here to make this easier for you! You’re warmly invited to join the InterNations community. Within our international network in Sarajevo, there’s a vibrant circle of American expats from all regions of USA, including New York City, Los Angeles, and beyond.
