Living in Tangerang

The Indonesian city of Tangerang is located in the Banten province of the country. The weather in Tangerang is usually humid and hot, and Tangerang is known for being quite chaotic with its bustling city center experiencing very heavy and slow moving traffic. Expats in Tangerang who prefer a quieter life typically choose to live a little further out of the city where the scene is not so hectic. Indonesia has a fascinating culture which can be seen in the many and varied and ancient temples and the diverse range of music that is listened to. The rituals and day to day lifestyle of Indonesia’s people differs on each island of the country. However, no matter where expatriates choose to relocate within Indonesia and more specifically in Tangerang, they are sure to receive a warm welcome from the locals who are famed for their friendly and hospitable nature.

It's a really helpful site: Via InterNations, we found an international playgroup for our kids (6 and 8 years old) here in Jakarta.
