The capital of the geographic region of Macedonia is a spirited city known for being a popular tourist destination but also for its festivals, events, and vibrant cultural life as well as for its delicious cuisine, and much more! With the available bus services, ferries, boats, and a very walkable city center, navigating your way around the city from one place to the next is simple. This also means that if you don’t want to live among the hustle and bustle of the center, you can enjoy a quieter life in the suburbs such as Kalamaria or Pylaia, for example, which are a 20 to 30-minute journey away from Thessaloniki’s center.
