Moving to Canada. Now what? (Toronto)

My fiancèe and i want to move to canada.
Does anyone know exactly what documents we need to get?
Is it difficult to get a job as a truck driver?
Is it better do apply for a permanent work permit/visa or a temporary?
I'm a bit worried that if we should get a temporary work permit, it will take too long to renew it and we will be kicked out again.
Where can we find an affordable appartment?
