Complementing our established panel debates, we are now also organising lightweight, informal discussions for the Friends of the Salon. Our first event is on:
Tuesday, 24th November Protected content
19:00 to 21:00 at Karl der Grosse
Attendance is FREE
Please RSVP to: Protected content
Friends of the Salon is an extension of our more formal events, focussing on facilitating similar discussions, but in more intimate settings, thereby allowing to go further and deeper. We also hope to provide a chance to get to know one another.
You will be able to purchase drinks at the bar of Karl der Grosse and take them into the function room. For us to be able to plan the capacity, we’d appreciate to know how many of you will come, so please give us an RSVP when intending to attend.
About Our First Event
We also would love to hear your opinions and ideas about what Friends of the Salon could become. A sampling from the topics already discussed at our debates will also be provided to get the conversations going, but we believe that later the participants will bring and raise their own questions to discuss.
Some questions that have proven to be of interest to many:
-Do an artist’s crimes taint their work?
-Is the EU for or against true democracy?
-Should we be protected from offensive speech?
-Do gender quotas result in poorer quality appointments to senior jobs?
-Is our mind a product of bio-chemical reactions only?
-Can we have privacy in the age of the internet?
We hope to see you there!
