Country Director - Ghana (Accra)

A global organisation focusing on improving the lives of children and youth is currently seeking a qualified and experienced Country Director to lead a team of professionals in Ghana. The individual will be primarily responsible for managing and growing the organisation’s program and its overall operations within the region with the aim to increase the quality, efficiency and long term impact of its service provision to create awareness and advocate for sustained high level engagement of other stakeholders within the society. You will be required to perform other tasks but not limited to; developing and strengthening relationships with local organisations and networks to establish national strategic relations and alliances with partners and civil society. Serve as the first point of call for all external international stakeholders’ relations. Lead proposal development and facilitation for funding opportunities and ensure submissions are won. Ensure accountability of activities at all levels through efficient and transparent use of resources. Oversee annual budget, monitor and verify the program budgets in adherence to approved budgets and procedures. Oversee HR operations whilst providing advice as required to all employees within the organisation’s policies, practices and procedures. Carry out risk, vulnerability and threat assessment as well as physical security assessment of all sites within the regions and other duties as assigned.

Interested candidate must have Master’s degree in Business Administration, Social Sciences, Development studies or other related discipline along with at least ten Protected content post qualified experience in a leadership role within a large or international organization working on strategic planning, quality improvement, project planning and implementation, monitoring and evaluation, human resources and financial management. Knowledgeable in the usage of program management tools and understand its procedures. Experienced at controlling approved budget and financial management as well as the ability to read and understand financial data to make informed decisions. Must have proven experience in developing and writing proposals as well as reports. Creates an atmosphere in which timely information flows smoothly both upward and downward through the company; possesses exceptional communication and presentation skills both with internal and external stakeholders and good networking skills. Demonstrated computer skills especially in MS Office Packages (Word, PowerPoint, Excel etc), is required. Proven leadership ability to influence, develop, and empower employees to achieve objectives with a team approach. Candidate should be willing to travel frequently locally and internationally.
