Island escape - a day at the beach in Fehmarn
Want to spend a great day at the beach away from the crowds, go for a swim in the baltic sea, get a tan and watch some surfer dudes fall on their face? Then this might be right up your alley. Fehmarn has some beautiful, natural beaches with lots of fresh, salty air, ocean surf, sand dunes and sheep that go baa.
Note: We meet directly at the beach in Fehmarn called 'Gammendorfer Strand' in the north, next to the campsite 'Am Niobe'. So this is a bit special as you have to get there by yourself and organise your own transport by train or car.
At the beach, look for a blue and white striped umbrella or ping me on Whatsapp: Protected content
The water up there is pretty clear, has about 20C° and is perfect for swimming, so pack your trunks, snorkels, inflatable rubberducks or anything else you like to play with as we'll spend the whole day at the beach. Also bring enough food and drink for the day, I will have a little cooling box and a grill ready for a BBQ at the side.
Bring a few Euros in cash, there is usually a small charge for the beach of 2€ (Kurtaxe) and no one takes credit cards anywhere anyway (you know, an old german tradition).
