L. JANÁČEK: TARAS BULBA, RHAPSODY FOR ORCHESTRA
A. BRUCKNER: SYMPHONY NO. 7 IN E MAJOR, WAB 107
Sir Simon Rattle returns to the Palau with one of Bruckner’s most majestic symphonies. The Seventh, a work of expansive beauty and spiritual depth, unfolds with a monumental sound that seems to rise skyward. Alongside it, Janáček’s orchestral rhapsody Taras Bulba, a vibrant piece full of dramatic intensity and orchestral colour that transports us directly to the heart of Eastern Europe. An evening of contrasts, between the loftiest lyricism and the most overflowing energy, in the hands of one of the greatest conductors of our time.
