What You’ll Learn:

ص (Saad) is an emphatic voiceless alveolar fricative. It’s similar to the English “s” in “salt,” but with a heavier, deeper sound coming from the back of the mouth.

Key Tip:
Raise the back of your tongue and add pressure from the throat — feel the strength of the sound.

Example Words:
صَبَاح (sabaah) – morning

صَدِيق (sadeeq) – friend

صَوْت (sawt) – voice/sound
