"In H-Moll" is a vocal and theatrical show freely inspired by the Mass in B minor. Music theatre with 10 actors "a capella". Bach’s masterpiece is embodied by the single voices of ten actors whispering it, sketching it out and playing with it. They move through this work as if walking on the edge of a cliff, constantly on the verge of falling, just like novice tightrope walkers. Faced with the limits of their human condition, they endeavour to put their bodies and voices to the service of the score in a constant disequilibrium. Lascivious, clumsy, cunning or devout, they sing the Mass in B minor in their own way, moving from a pompous style to rock without forgetting pathos, the lamentable or laughter. The show humorously and tenderly evokes a clumsy, monstrous, ambiguous and moving human condition.
In H-Moll received the “Michèle Fabien” research prize in Protected content .

At the crossing of genres ans codes, her shows are characterised by an imaginative musical and theatrical language, developing itself between the sublime and the grotesque, the mythical and the daily, within and through details, cracks, ridiculous situations, threatening banalities.

This theatre of shifts and gaps can arise wherever and often where you expect it the least. That's how a picture, a musical work or a dramatic legend become a new and - literally - iconoclastic kind of theatre. Each show proposes an hitherto unseen perspective, requesting the spectator participation, provoking his/her surprise and his/her emotion - and often laugh !

Franco-German director Ingrid von Wantoch Rekowski was born in Germany, in Protected content . After first studying piano, dance and painting in the United States, she embarked on her directing career at INSAS (Institut National Supérieur des Arts et Spectacles) in Brussels. She has trained under, among others, Eugenio Barba, Bob Wilson, Georges Aperghis, Trisha Brown, Alexei Levinski, Dario Fo and Anatoli Vassiliev.

From her very first show, In The Woods One Evening, in Protected content , featuring music by Aperghis, Buckinx, Berberian, Deak, Dzuibak and Lachert, she has established a singular language suffused with the logics of the stage, music, visual arts and literature. This is an approach she has taken further with her company, Lucilia Caesar, which she founded in Brussels in the same year. She also works elsewhere in Europe as a guest director at festivals, theatres and opera houses.
