Dear photographers,
Join us to visit the exhibition of Mimmo Jodice, one of the greatest protagonists of Italian photography. For the occasion, the exhibition is enriched with a new section dedicated to images of the Florentine works of Michelangelo Buonarroti, which come out of the Jodice archives after thirty years. The exhibition includes 80 works, created between Protected content 2011, divided into the sections Anamnesis, Languages, Views of Naples, City, Nature and Seas.
Driven by his interests in art, theater and music, in the Protected content the artist dedicated himself to drawing and painting as a self-taught person. At the beginning of the sixties he discovered photography. He then began a series of experiments on the materials and codes of photography, using the medium not as a descriptive tool, but as a creative one. During these years Jodice lived in close contact with the most important neo-avant-garde artists who frequented Naples in those years: Warhol, Beuys, De Dominicis, Paolini, Kosuth, Lewitt, Kounnellis, Nitsch and many others.Jodice is particularly sensitive to new ideas and increasingly dedicates himself to creative photography, creating conceptual research works.
We will meet at Protected content
