Crime-writing festival- Noire Emeraude
A four-day celebration of Irish crime writing looks at Ireland’s particular take on the crime novel. A land known for its lyricism, this love of language can also be regarded as a distinctive characteristic of Irish crime writing.
Opening today, with a conversation with Benjamin Black (aka John Banville) and presenting chaired discussions and readings with some of Ireland’s finest crime writers,
Noir Emeraude embraces themes such as the ethics of basing novels on true crimes, the growth of the psychological thriller and Ireland as a backdrop for crime fiction.
