His film Senses, in Protected content known under the title Happy Hour, lasts for 5 hours and 17 minutes and was filmed in Kobe, reveals progressively the solitude and frustration of 4 friends reaching 40. The film obtained several international awards of which the prize of feminine interpretation attributed jointly to Sachie Tanaka, Hazuki Kikuchi, Maiko Mihara and Rira Kawamura at International film festival in Locarno.
In Protected content , Asako I & II, based on the novel of Tomoka Shibasaki, was presented in competition at the Cannes festival.
