The event:

This is your chance to experience an evening where fantasy, innovation, and masterful performance converge—brought vividly to life by one of today’s most exciting conductors: Elim Chan. You will step into a world of color, storytelling, and orchestral magic.

This captivating program blends the whimsical and the profound, featuring selections from Prokofiev’s Cinderella—a lush, imaginative score rarely heard in its orchestral form, brimming with elegance, mischief, and cinematic flair. Adding a touch of the ethereal is the New York premiere of Noriko Koide’s Swaddling Silk and Gossamer Rain, a work of shimmering delicacy and intricate texture that invites listeners into a dreamlike sonic landscape.

At the heart of the evening, Principal Cello Carter Brey takes the spotlight in Saint-Saëns’s Cello Concerto No. 1, a piece of sweeping drama and virtuosic brilliance that showcases the instrument’s full expressive range.
