Refreshing Swim in Tuscan Romagna
here's the description of our excursion!
Starting from Moraduccio, just after crossing the regional border, we'll follow a paved road for about 1.5 km until we take a path that will lead us uphill to the famous secular chestnut grove of the Selva di Quedina with over Protected content old trees.
Continuing along the Quedina ditch, we'll arrive on the ridge of the Castallaccio di Tirli, where the foundations of the last Ubaldini Castle to be conquered by the Florentines are found.
Going down along sandstone stairs we'll arrive at the old house of Montecchio and then along chestnut groves and the road of Ronco, we'll return to Moraduccio and have our swim under the waterfall!
As an option, we can visit the ghost town of Castiglioncello!
Here's the characteristics of the trail:
Total length: about 10 km
Total climb altitude: about Protected content
Difficulty level: Medium
Actual travel time (without stops): Approximately 4 hours + free time for swimming and snack-dinner (optional)
Duration: day trip (packed lunch by the participants).
COMPULSORY equipment: face mask to comply Covid rules, hiking boots, water (2 liters minimum).
Recommended equipment: hand sanitizer, clothing suitable for the season and weather, swimming costume, towel and slippers, trekking poles.
IMPORTANT NOTE: according to Covid rules, no more than three people are allowed in one car. Pls consider using your own mean of transportation or ask for a seat to other participants.
