Here we are again!

We will start this Protected content an excursion that will make us discover a little-known area of Tuscany.

Starting from the small village of Iano, located between the Valdelsa and the Valdera, we will reach the Sanctuary of Pietrina, in whose immediate vicinity are the remains of the Castle of Pietrina.

The hiking ring takes place partly in the forest and partly in the countryside where you can admire the landscape of great charm, consisting of gentle slopes dotted with ancient farmhouses.

The day will offer the opportunity to visit the surprising and fascinating convent of San Vivaldo, a suggestive "sacred mountain" unique in Tuscany, built in the sixteenth century and reproducing the topography and holy places of Jerusalem.

In the end, we may decide to stop for a coffee or a glass of wine!

Here some characteristics of the excursion:
Total length: about 11 km
Total climb altitude: about Protected content
Actual travel time without stops: 3 hrs
Difficulty level: Easy
Duration: day trip

Required equipment:
suitable dressing for the season, trekking shoes, water - 1.5L min

As usual, carpooling will be attempted to reach the starting point of the hike but seats for everybody cannot be guaranteed.
